  1. Your stand on campaign reform is admirable. I trust that you will make it a cornerstone in your drive to make local government more responsive and transparent to all citizens. Congratulations!

  2. Congrats! I hope your type of compaign can make it down to the other end of NC.

  3. Is it true that you’re an atheist? If so, that makes me even more happy I voted for you. It’s pretty unusual to find a successful politician who is also an atheist. I read that your competitors attempted to use your atheism against you. I haven’t followed the race that closely, can you fill me in?

  4. We read about your election and swearing-in earlier this morning in our local paper in Lancaster, PA. The article received top billing on the front page. We were pleasantly surprised and are supportive of you and of your atheism. Better prepare yourself for all the hate mail that is to come. Still, what a breath of fresh air to have read the article and to know that you are an elected official. My wife and I visited Asheville last June and found the city/region to be most appealing. And surprisingly progressive in its politics.
Best wishes to you sir and may you succeed in all your endeavors
